This house has already attracted some interest as one of the contenders in 'The House of the Year' programme on BBC Northern Ireland.

All tradesmen involved in the build were chosen for their experience, and the builder Steven Cairnduff had worked with the client previously. Major ground works were lead by specialist landscape architect, 'Cameron Landscapes' and the architect involved in the specification process was 'Warwick Stewart'.

The client was actively involved throughout the course of the build and because they knew exactly how they wanted the final product to look, Mourne Granite just had to set about making it happen. Such a large space involved the purchase of bespoke oversized tiles directly from the quarry in Germany. The granite which is used for the paving, kerbing had a detailed specification which meant nearly all products were brought in to suit. The manufacturing capability of the Mourne Granite factory meant that finer adjustment could be made easily as changes inevitably occured.

From the solid floating stairs, to the composite stone worktops in the kitchen, Mourne Granite helped to develop the natural stone vision that this client had for their home. They were able to make design suggestions with regard to cutting and laying the exterior stone and worked closely with the tilers with regard to the tile/stone design on the floor and on the walls for a truly stunning and elegant interior. We used natural stone from Mourne Granite throughout our house and would highly recommend them.
